Jim Ritter has been a financial advisor since 2007 and has served as an Investment Specialist for the team since 2011.
Growing up, Jim admired both of his grandfathers and spent much of his time with each of them. One of his grandfathers was an avid investor; the other was self-employed. Jim decided to follow in both of their footsteps and become a financial advisor.
He hails from Pennsylvania, spending the first 9 years of his life in Pittsburgh and the next 13 years of his life in Philipsburg. He earned an engineering degree from Bucknell University and became a project manager after college. But it didn’t take him long to get into the financial world, joining Capitol Financial Partners as a financial advisor in 2007.
After growing his client base for 8 years with Capitol Financial Partners, he was excited to join Veritas Financial in 2016. “I really appreciate the focus on education that Veritas brings to the table,” he said. “The best part of my work day is when a client experiences a visible sense of peace after a formerly-confusing topic becomes clear and understandable.”
Jim is a member of Vienna Presbyterian Church and is active in the Christian Businessmen’s Connection (CBMC). At night and on weekends, he can be found fishing, hunting, or playing any number of recreational sports in the DC area. In 2012, he married his wife, Denise, who is a teacher with the Fairfax County School District. They live in Merrifield, VA, with their son, William.
He holds Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 registrations with FINRA. He is licensed to sell securities in AL, CA, CO, DC, IL, IN, LA, MD, MN, MS, NC, NY, OK, PA, VA, WA, WV and to sell life and health insurance in DC, IL, LA, MD, NY, OH, PA, VA, and VT.
